Comedian Jak Knight's Cause of Death Confirmed by Coroner

Jak Knight's reason for death has been determined after an autopsy conducted by the Medical Examiner-Coroner.

The actor, writer and comedian was discovered on the Los Angeles Calif. embankment Thursday, suffering from an injury from a gunshot in the coroner's report that was obtained from Monday.

The cause of death for the 28-year-old was ruled to be suicide after the Coroner.

His death was announced to his loved ones on Thursday evening, Variety confirmed it, and quickly he received an avalanche of messages of condolences from fans, friends and comedians.

"Rest In Peace Jak Knight. Hilarious comedian and a great guy. I can't believe it," Eternal' Kumail Nanjiani tweeted.

Others , including Broad City's Hannibal Buress, Workaholics' Blake Anderson, Chance the Rapper, Everything's Trash star Phoebe Robinson, The Boys' Jack Quaid and Fire Island's Joel Kim-Booster have shared their own tributes to the comedian.

Knight has recently co-created and co-starred with Peacock's Bust Down with Sam Jay, Chris Redd and Langston Kerman. This show debuted through the platform's streaming service in march, follows four friends who are employed at low wages at a gambling establishment situated in Gary, Indiana. Additionally, Knight served as an executive producer along with his co-producers.

His list of credits also includes writing for Black-ish as well as Lucas Bros. Moving Co. and an upcoming screen part in Chelsea Peretti's First Second Female Director. Also, Knight has double-duty writing and acting credits on Pause alongside Sam Jay and Big Mouth.

Knight has toured the world as a standup comic and opened for acts like Dave Chappelle, Aziz Ansari, Joel McHale and Eric Andre. He was selected as an Comedy Central Comic to Watch in 2014, and was a guest on the Netflix standup show The Comedy Lineup in 2018.
